Amongst all the sensationalism that drives the media and a lot of bloggers, it is important to recognize the anchors of the Philippines who are simply working in a sincere and dignified way for all of us.The Society of Honorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536906267332687130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855856123871700301.post-59167103386086310682012-07-11T16:45:06.123+08:002012-07-11T16:45:06.123+08:00Mr Del Rosario deserves a big pat in the back. Saluti, signore!
Thank you Joe for the exposition, not too many of us knew this outstanding gentleman.

Bayan opposes any inittiatives for progress. They are public enemy number one. We have to watch these people especially during the midterm election.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855856123871700301.post-82605979671517607542012-07-11T08:52:41.718+08:002012-07-11T08:52:41.718+08:00Yes, the contrast between the dedication to the Ph...Yes, the contrast between the dedication to the Philippines demonstrated by Sec. Del Rosario, versus that of Reyes with his 1950's blatherings, is day and night. One works, and the other idealizes, largely irresponsibly. Thanks for the background on the Marcos years.

I read those leftist mutterings and shake my head. And the ideology of the NPA has deteriorated to extortion racket gangsterism. Bankrupt ideas detached from practical results generally go the way of communism in general . . . down the tubes . . .The Society of Honorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536906267332687130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855856123871700301.post-27742091672538333632012-07-11T07:57:51.557+08:002012-07-11T07:57:51.557+08:00Thank heavens for Sec. Casino and R. Reyes Jr and the rest of their Bayan Muna party-mates, let's just say they got LEFT behind the times.

During the final years of the Marcos regime, they led protest marches and rallies decrying "US imperialism" alongside the abusive Marcos rule. They branded Marcos a US lapdog as they called for him to step down.

The students and laborers who joined their rallies just hated Marcos so much and went along with the chants and carried the placards bearing the anti US propaganda. But the anti US sentiment never really stuck. They still loved their Levi's and Wrangler jeans, still danced to Michael Jackson's music and treated themselves to the occasional McDonald's burger after an exhausting day of protesting.

Almost three decades on and the Left is still marching to the same tune, still decrying US intervention and fomenting fear of undue US influence in a country where Mcburgers, KFC chicken and Pizza Hut thick crust are part of the national diet. Ho-hum.

ChaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855856123871700301.post-2244208707597544992012-07-11T06:11:52.084+08:002012-07-11T06:11:52.084+08:00That is an interesting fact. I'd guess there is a lot of activity in the area of Angeles City, where Japan has a major concentration of industry. It would seem to me more up to Angeles City than Japan. And I'm not sure what the point is. If the Philippines wishes to reduce prostitution, it should stop the over-birthing and get its economy roaring. The Society of Honorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536906267332687130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4855856123871700301.post-69461134684466656982012-07-10T23:33:49.702+08:002012-07-10T23:33:49.702+08:00My friend did a research on underage prostitution ...My friend did a research on underage prostitution in the Philippines. She used research from the UN. To her surprise she found out that most of the men were from Japan and by far. She told me that men from the USA were not among the the top of the list. She wanted to bring this issue to the attention to politicians (she is from a well known political family in the Philippines with connections) but she was ignored by them. She told me that she thinks there is a conspiracy to keep theses facts away from the public. It seems that they need the Japanese and they try to avoid any provocation with them. In your article it seems that they really can use the Japanese help and the Japanese are willing to help them.Attilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06669976067539551920noreply@blogger.com
